EXCURSIONS WITH DEPARTURE FROM PRASLIN

VALLEE DE MAI TOUR
Half day without lunch and guide
Days of Operation: Monday & Thursday
Minimum Pax: 20

Leave the world behind and join us in exploring the mysterious realm of Vallée de Mai, the legendary valley where General Gordon of Khartoum became convinced was the original site of the biblical Garden of Eden.

Stroll along the winding footpaths of a place so special it has been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beneath the shade of ancient, towering palms bearing the most extraordinary fruit of all: the famous Coco de Mer. A double lobed coconut, it holds the record as the world’s heaviest seed, mystifyingly designed by Mother Nature to perfectly imitate the sensual shape of a woman’s pelvis, adding to its Eden lore.

Listen for the call of one of the world’s rarest birds, the Seychelles Black Parrot, as you wander further into the valley. Your guide will introduce you to its spectacular treasures, which includes one of the planet’s tiniest frogs, stick insects, chameleons and six species of endemic palms.

VALLE DE MAI & ANSE LAZIO
Full day guided tour by bus with lunch
Days of Operation: Monday & Thursday
Minimum Pax: 20

Enjoy the very best of both worlds: those of the ocean and one of Seychelles’ twin, UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the mysterious, primeval valley known as the Vallée de Mai. We will introduce you to the experience of a lifetime on a guided tour of this world-famous site where the legendary Coco-de-Mer, the double-lobed coconut in the form of a woman’s pelvis, grows in twilight beneath a towering canopy of palms. Fantastic legends and tales about this extraordinary site as our guide will explain how it is believed to be the original biblical Garden Of Eden before escorting you to the ocean - destination Anse Lazio, reputedly the world’s most beautiful beach. Swimming and snorkelling in the crystal waters off this divine beach is a once in a lifetime experience. We will provide you with ample time to engrave it on your memory before we take you home at day’s end.

LA DIGUE ISLAND BOAT & BIKE
Full day without lunch & guide
Days of Operation: Monday to Sunday
Minimum Pax: 20

Whether you are starting off from Mahé or Praslin islands, you will be cruising the crystalline waters on board the island’s community ferries to La Digue, where you will experience some of the most memorable and authentic island living moments.

La Digue is yours to explore guide-free and at your own pace for the entirety of the day. Hop onto your bike to begin your adventure, and allow yourself to be open to all the surprises that you may find right around the corner, such as an unbothered land tortoise causing some mid-morning “traffic”… if you’re “lucky”, that is!

You can choose to visit many of the island’s attractions, such as L’Union Estate, home to the cemetery of the original settlers of the island. Attractions include a traditional copra mill, giant land tortoises, an old plantation house and the picturesque Anse Source D’Argent; famous for its huge granite boulders and clear turquoise water.

LA DIGUE ISLAND ONLY
Full day guided tour with lunch
Days of Operation: Wednesday & Saturday
Minimum Pax: 20

We start off the day with a relaxing 15 minutes ferry ride from Praslin’s Baie Ste. Anne jetty to La Digue where upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed before being escorted to board the waiting transfers for L’Union Estate.

Landscaped gardens and bordering granite boulders welcome all to this magnificent destination, where many secrets await to be discovered. Home to a movie icon, Emmanuelle House (where the famous movie entitled “Emmanuelle” was filmed), L’Union Estate proves not only to be a cultural museum, as you will also learn how to make the copra - the succulent flesh of dried coconut - and witness the extraction of its miraculous perfumed oil. Your next visit will be to Anse Source D’Agent, the world’s most photographed beach. The combination of turquoise shallows fringed by exquisite granite rocks only guarantees that your breath will be taken away.

Afterwards, treat your taste buds to an explosion of new flavours with a lunch of authentic Creole cuisine, followed by the scenic journey to the beaches of Grand Anse or Anse Severe, where you will enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Eventually, the time will come to make our return journey from one of the Seychelles’ most iconic islands, and back to Praslin where you will be returned to your respective hotels.

COUSIN, CURIEUSE & SAINT PIERRE ISLANDS
Full day guided catamaran cruise with lunch on Curieuse Island
Days of Operation: Tuesday
Minimum Pax: 20

Experience this unique combination of Seychelles’ most famous island highlights, starting with a one hour guided tour of Cousin: a picturesque reserve for a wide range of fauna, including doves and giant tortoises, and a conservation success story that has rescued important endemic wildlife from extinction.

After relishing in the rich diversity of this pristine sanctuary, you will then visit Curieuse Island off Praslin’s northern coast, the only place apart from the Vallee de Mai where the legendary Coco de Mer grows wild. Here, you enjoy exceptional swimming in limpid waters and relaxation on white sands, before being served a tasty BBQ lunch.

After lunch, you can enjoy a one hour walk through this fascinating nature reserve, taking in the ruins of its ancient leper colony and the newly refurbished ‘Doctor’s House’, now a charming museum. The island trail meanders through a mangrove forest teeming with wildlife towards the impressive lagoon of Baie Laraie where small sharks and turtles abound and where you will also find the pen for rearing giant land tortoises in an exciting conservation project.

Leaving Curieuse behind, we will eventually make our way to the third in our trio of island jewels, St.Pierre, for the snorkelling experience of a lifetime amid crystalline waters, which abound with a myriad of fish and colourful coral formations. EXCURSIONS - PRASLIN
